Gortat going to San Antonio?

A Polish newspaper website have reported "Gortat przejdzie do San Antonio Spurs?" Which translates Gortat going to San Antonio?

HE looks pretty good , hes aparantly pretty close to Dwight Howard
could fit in quite well.
Here is the link if you can understand Polish
Dziennik - Koszykówka - Gortat przejdzie do San Antonio Spurs?

Hell yeah, he's 24 and got room to grow. Even though he isn't 7 foot, 6'11 is better than what we have now other than Duncan.

Where will play marcin Gortat in future season? Contract is finished play in july with (from) sole pole NBA Orlando Magic. There is group most soundly interested (concerned) our basketball player san Antonio Spurs. It demand for pole from potential trade partners at the level of from 30 millions of dollars contract 6 lat of (summer of; year of) game preliminary too.

Two-summer (two-years old) agreement (convention) expires in (to) after this season Gortata Orlando. Pole can sign agreement (convention) on early july with other club already and it must not count on nobody's grace. It will choose next employer < Self-service store >. There is group most soundly interested (concerned) our basketball player san Antonio Spurs. Group, which (who) has earned lat (summer; year) within last ten in limit of reward four masterly titles place great deal. Check the dunk at 46 seconds

Tons of videos on him here
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=...et&view=videos

Can dunk from afar, can rebound, block. I think he would do well with the Spurs. Goes to the rim (check first video)

He is making 711,000 so im sure the Spurs FO can figure something out. Won't cost much.

He's a solid player and defender. He actually defended Tim fairly well last time we played Orlando. Who would we give up?

This would be a great acquisition IMO. Would we give up Thomas? Oberto?

I dont mind giving up Oberto but not at the expense of Thomas. It would be nice to have a rotation of Duncan, Gortat and Thomas with either giving up either Oberto, Ime, JV, Bonner or for some picks.

He does look like Manu! I would love to have this guy but I would give up Oberto for him, not sure who else we could give up but I would give up some picks.

It Says: that Spurs have some free space in salary, and want to use it for signing Gortat , instead of Splitter who is suppose to stay in Europe for another year. They also wrote that Thomas is old, and Oberto is slow and old, and both suck, so Duncan have no help in the paint.

Well, Thomas is still usable as seen during the Suns game against Shaq. Oberto has been nothing but bench warming material this yea, id feel bad to see him go though.

Truly, do we even have a shot of getting him or this thread just speculation? He would fit in really well alongside Timmy, but we would have to give up Bonner, maybe rghts to Splitter as they are not going to give him away for free!

bonner fill a role. a needed one "3pt shooter forward"... oberto is very good passer and screener... kurt has good mid range and defense... i say place malik hairston in place of udoka, and trade splitter rights and udoka for this guy.. maybe a trow in like vaughn...

edit: i didnt realize "he is making 711,000 so im sure the Spurs FO can figure something out. Won't cost much."

maybe with splitter rights is enough... btw he dont have that wow athleticism but for shure is better than what we curretly have..

He did play well against us and since we don't know his name or salary w/o looking it up on hoopshype, I'm going to have to believe that this rumor could be true. Another one of those "The Spurs traded for who?" deals.

Of course, that was tape from a game against Golden State, not exactly known for their inside play...grain of salt.

He isn't dispensible for Orlando and I guess we can get him by sending Vaughn or Udoka and a 2nd rounder.(Both could be useful for Orlando)
But we shouldn't give up Splitter's rights for a player like that. He is a still a good trade asset, despite his buy-out clause. We can use him for a much better player(for Camby maybe)

here's a video of him selling tickets:
Video: Marcin Gortat can hook you up with old socks, tickets
By J.E. Skeets

Magic backup center Marcin Gortat is a natural born salesman. Seriously. Dude could sell an Eskimo ice. Really expensive bagged ice. In fact, Gortat has such a way with words, that I dare you to watch this clip from The Dante & Galante Show and NOT buy eight Bobcats/Magic tickets for Feb. 11.
The "selling like a champion" starts up around the 1:20 mark.

"Oh, you'll be interesting? How many?"
Wow. The "Polish Hammer" might do a better Borat imitation than Sasha Cohen himself.

Of course we know our Pop love them those Vets to stay. But Timmy needs more help now as he is doing the C than PF because of the lack of another big body to take the bangs for him...

Hope it is a true report and not just a rumor

Do it Pop and RC! In a Heart Beat!!! NOW We need him this year please don't wait till next year Timmy needs more help so he can last us all the way through. Now is good next year is too late..

We're giving up Ian Mahinmi for this guy?

He's the only player we have that works in a trade for him.

The Magic are over the cap, and their incoming salaries need to be less than the incoming trade value to make this trade successful.

Malik Hairston can't be traded because he signed less than 3 months ago, no? He has a trade restriction.

The article does not talk about a trade to the Spurs this year but rather about the fact that Gortat will be looking to sign a long term contract some place place in the NBA next year. The Spurs apparently are his most serious or the most interested suitor. As thrilled as I would be to see him here, especially if it was to happen as early as this season i'm not that enthusiastic that it will happen at all. I've followed Gortat since his entry into NBA pretty closely, since he really is the most promising Polish bball player out there and I know the Magic will be pretty difficult to beat for his services. They like him a lot over there and I believe the only roadblock in bringing him back maybe be if he asks for too much money. The atricle also says he will be looking for a contract with a length of around 6 yrs at 30mil total. Don't know if the Spurs are willing to fork up that much money or commit for that long considering where Gortat's skills are today, but he keeps developing at a pretty impressive pace and maybe worth that kind of commitment. Anyhow, with all that said I would love to see him play for the Spurs and if it happens this season I think only Gortat himself will be more excited about the trade then myself. Spurs do need to keep Thomas though, his experience and toughness are too valuable. I would not mind getting rid of Oberto but again I just don't see how we can trade for him this season.

I would love for the
Spurs to get this guy, but it makes me laugh when one of our forum members suggest giving up Vaughn, Oberto, and Udoka, like Orlando would really like trading for the contents of the Spurs recycle bin. Lmao.

Amen. I'd like to see a thread where the other 29 GM's in the league would tell us what/who they would give up for the trio of JV/Oberto/Udoka. Anybody wanna take a guess at how many "nothings" or "a couple of 2nd round picks" we'd get?

Since the dude's name is Gortat, and he's more obscure than Ime was at the time, I vote that yes, we do grow this thread to disgusting proportions.

Do you think we will get Gortat/What do you think about Gortat

I wanted to know if you think we will get this Gortat guy. What do you think about Gortat? Who do you think we should trade to get this guy? Is he worthy to get? Tell me what you think.
